Like many educators, I have spent countless hours exploring Google Earth and Google Maps. As both a geographer and teacher, I have sought ways to integrate these tools into the classroom. Over the past fifteen years, this work has developed into a curated collection of maps designed to be easy to access, compare, and share. Many of the visualizations on geteach.com originated in the classroom, when a student or I would note, “if only we had a map for that.” Over time, these moments informed the development of a library of more than 200 maps, which have piqued the curiosity of both students and myself.
While this project continues to evolve, it is available for classroom use today. The aim of geteach.com is to support teachers in designing lessons that encourage students to examine spatial distributions, patterns, and relationships. Please explore the maps and connect with the community via -
